The Pole

All heats and the finals will be using a 45mm X-stage lite pole for both singles and doubles categories. For the singles categories it is up to the competitor whether they want to have it set to spinner or static. For doubles the pole will be set to static.

No product is allowed to be put on the pole before a performance. The poles will be cleaned with methelated spirits between each competitor. Any grip is allowed on the skin. Stage dimensions will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Who Can Enter?

NZAPP is aimed at the amateur performers as the title suggests, you cannot enter NZAPP amateur categories if, in the last two years, you have ever been paid to perform regularly (more than once a month) as a professional, which includes but is not limited to;

Anyone that instructs more than one hour a week, been regularly paid to perform or competed (but not won) a professional competition may enter the open category. If you have any doubts over your suitability for the competition contact the organisers immediately. If you are found to have entered unfairly you will be disqualified.

The Competition Format

This year the Competition will consist of 3 regional heats (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch) and a grand final. Regional Heats will consist of 4 Levels and a doubles category. The winner from each section in the regional heats will go through to the final.

We will be offering an additional place in the final for the best overall performance of the night at each heat, this will be chosen by the judges on which performance they enjoyed the most, so make them fun no matter what level.

Entries will be accepted up to the day before a heat however we can only fit up to 25 competitors into to a single heat, first in first served! Anyone can enter any heat and remember, if you miss out on your first heat, feel free to try again in another one!
All footwear and barefoot are permitted

Applications

All entrants for a singles category are required to pay a $20 entry fee when submitting their application forms. Doubles entries are required to pay $30 per pair. Entrants are allowed to enter both a singles category and a doubles category but will have to pay an entry fee for each application. Applications will only be accepted when application forms are completed fully along with their entry fee. If you cancel your place for any reason or do not show up to your heat then NZAPP will retain your entry fee to cover administration costs.
